Polarised neutron reflectometry measurements in magnetic antidots arrays.

DOI

This study aims to observe the magnetic properties of a family of arrays of permalloy antidots. Antidots are grown, by means of magnetron sputtering, on top of an anodised alumina substrate, characterised by a self-aligned porous surface having hexagonal order of pores. The diameter of the antidots can be tailored by controlling the anodisation parameters. These samples were studied by means of magnetisation measurement, magnetoresistance, X-rays magnetic circular dichroism and MFM surface domain observation. A major change in the magnetoresistance behaviour of the sample depending on the presence and size of antidots was observed. Polarised Neutron Reflectometry will be used to study the domain structure in antidots systems along their thickness
