The Eptapyrgio Oral History Team was created in the spring of 2018. Its 14 members conduct research, seeking and collecting oral testimonies through semi-structured interviews with people associated with the Eptapyrgio of Thessaloniki (as a monument and as a prison) at any time and juncture of their lives, or as former prisoners, politicians and criminals. either as residents / employees of the neighborhood, or as employees of the Archaeological Service, or having other qualities. Through life stories and through research around the material and intangible aspects of the individual and collective memory of Genti Koule, the team traces the lived experience of people in relation to the multifaceted biography of Eptapyrgio, in order to reconstruct stories "from below". and create a dynamic connection with the city public.
