Surfactant aggregation at the solid-Ionic liquid and air ionic-liquid interfaces

DOI

The beamtime requested will be used to study the adsorption of a series of non-ionic surfactants at the air-IL interface in order to further understand the aggregation processes in such systems. A complementary SANS proposal (RB820395) accepted in the last ISIS proposal round and scheduled for December 2008 will make use of contrast variation to study the formation of aggregates in the bulk for potential use in the formation of metallic nanoparticles.
