(Table 3) 14C ages and main characteristics of the marine tephra in core MD90-917

The age of marine tephra has been assessed through 14C datings performed on planktonic foraminifera picked out in the same ash-layer level and expressed in conventional radiocarbon years. A standard marine reservoir correction of 400 14C years was used throughout the entire record for the last 18 kyr (Siani et al., 2000 and Siani et al., 2001)
