Surface activity of antibacterial agents

DOI

This proposal is aimed at understanding the surface activity of the antibacterial agent, Triclosan, in the presence of surfactants. We request NR beam time on SURF to investigate the adsorption of Triclosan at the air-water interface in the presence of the anionic surfactant SDS and anionic / non-ionic surfactant mixtures. The proposal is part of the broad collaboration between Oxford, Unilever and STFC on complex surfactant mixtures and is part of an EPSRC CASE award on Nanoscale delivery of benefit agents.
