Magnetic excitations in CrB2

DOI

CrB2, like MnB2, are transition metal diborides that have magnetically ordered ground states. Preliminary neutron (TAS) work and in house lab indicated that the dispersion has an itinerant character (ordered 0.5 Bohr magnetons per Cr, paramagnetic 2.1 Bohr magnetons and steep dispersion relation). We plan to map , across the Brillouin zone, at various orientations, energies and temperatures, the magnetic excitations to elucidate the nature of the magnetic excitations.
