Montipora capitata isolate:Colony #1 Genome sequencing and assembly

The rice coral Montipora capitata is widely distributed throughout the Indo-Pacific, and comprises one of the most important reef-building species in the Hawaiian Islands. The aim of the project was to obtain and describe its genome using linked-read sequencing. This will contribute to a better understanding of the evolutionary history and adaptations of stony corals, and may benefit efforts to mitigate the effects of the global coral health crisis.
