This resource arose out of research into the date of origin, characteristics, and scale of age-specific salaries, and the relative earnings among the British middle class between 1750 and 1850.

It provides an indication of middle class incomes received by a significant group of men in the middle and upper sections of London's middle class during the classic years of the British industrial revolution.
