Microbial diversity along an estuarine sedimentary gradient

This study aims to investigate the effect of sedimentation (erosion of fine sediment) on estuarine sediment microbial communities. It looks at how diversity changes across a gradient of mud content (percentage of clay and silt). It also aims to characterize responses in composition and diversity when these sediments are perturbed under nutrient enrichment in mesocosm experiments.
