Sea ice biota in the North Pole area, High Arctic Basin (2005-2012)

Field ice cores are sampled from drifting ice camps during one month per year, every year from 2005 to 2012 . The sampling area is a mezopolygon nearby the North Pole. Data are stored in the P.P. Shirshov Institute of Oceanology, Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS). This is a joint project of the RAS and the National Hydromet Modernization Project that is called PanArctic Ice Camp Expedition (PAICEX). PAICEX is the Science Project (www.paicex.ru) to investigate the relationships among physical, chemical and biological processes in the Central Arctic Ocean and represents the most complex interdisciplinary study ever undertaken in the Arctic.
