(Table 2) Nd isotopic ratios of fossil fish teeth and HH extractions of bulk sediments from the Atlantic Ocean

DOI

Sediment depth is given in mcd. External error of epsilon-Nd on TIMS = 0.3. External error of epsilon-Nd on the MC-ICP-MS was higher (143Nd/144Nd=0.000020; epsilon-Nd=0.4) during the initial runs on the instrument and decreased to 143Nd/144Nd=0.000014 (epsilon-Nd=0.3) during later runs. epsilon-Nd(0)=[(143Nd/144Nd)sample/(143Nd/144Nd)CHUR-1]10*4. Because the fish teeth and HH-extractions had similar 147Sm/143Nd values (Table 4) no corrections were made for the in-growth of 143Nd. JNdi-1 was run several times during each day of analyses for standardization on the Nu MC-ICPMS. The offset between the daily average JNdi-1 143Nd/144Nd value and the long term value from the TIMS (0.512103±0.000014, 2 sigma) was then used to normalize each individual analysis.
