Heat flow data and mean data of all heat flow stations, carried out by the HF-probe received during RV SONNE cruise SO278

DOI

Marine heat flow data, sampled on cruise SO278 in the Mediterranean. The Instrument was the 6 m long Kiel heat flow probe. It has 21 channels @ 0.26 m distance. It has the capability of thermal conductivity measurements by a heated wire, according to the pulsed needle probe method. Here we present the summed list of all measurements. Be aware that not all values represent a geothermal heat flow. Even negative values are calculated due to a number of different influences. Gas hydrates may exist in the area, slumps are common and active mud volcanism is present at many sites.
