This thematic collection contains datasets related to the ERC project NEXUS1492. The project investigates the impacts of colonial encounters in the Caribbean, the nexus of the first interactions between the New and the Old World. NEXUS1492 addresses intercultural Amerindian-European-African dynamics at multiple temporal and spatial scales across the historical divide of 1492. This thematic collection will also include published datasets created in the related projects CARIB (ERC/HERA) and Island Networks (NWO). Because of the interdisciplinary nature of the project, the collection will harbor datasets from Archaeology, Network Science, Geosciences, Life Sciences and Heritage Studies.
