Net ecosystem exchange of carbon greenhouse gases in high Arctic ecoregions (Lake Hazen, Quttinirpaaq National Park, Nunavut)

Eddy covariance flux towers were erected on a dry desert and wetland landscape near Lake Hazen. These automatic stations measure carbon dioxide (a greenhouse gas) exchange 10 times per second and quantify the net amount of carbon taken up by vegetation or released by soil and plant respiration over several months. We also measured methane fluxes from the desert and wetland soils using static chambers.
