2003-2014 Sediment traps, East and West Lakes, Cape Bounty, Nunavut

Funnel shaped vertical sediment traps were constructed by cutting the bottoms off 2 L bottles. This was the trap opening. 50 mL centrifuge tubes were attached to threaded cap end, and sediment accumulated in the centrifuge tubes. The traps were brought to the surface approximately every 3-6 days at three sites in West lake (prox, mid, distal) and 2 sites in East Lake (prox, mid). Prox, mid, and distal refer to locations along a proximal distal transect of the lake relative to stream inflow.
