Variability of shallow water sediment composition off Sylt (North Sea) over 10 years (1992 to 2002)

DOI

Granulometric sediment composition of the top layer of a fine sand site 5 km west of the island of Sylt (10 m water depth) was studied annulally in autumn by a minimum of six cores. During five years, temporal resolution was increased by additional sampling dates in spring (1993 to 1996 and 2002) and from 1998 to 2001 by additional sampling dates in summer. Spatial variability on a km-scale was studied from 1992 to 1996 by three additional sites adjoining to the continuously sampled area.
