Ice Monitoring : Ice and snow thickness data from Salluit fjord, Deception Bay and Kangiqsujuaq (Nunavik, Canada) (2015 - 2020)

Ice and snow thicknesses are measured at roughly twenty (20) locations on the frozen bay for three (3) sites in Nunavik, Canada : Salluit, Deception Bay and Kangiqsujuaq. Such measurements are done at least twice every winter, once in January and once sometime in April to May when the ice cover has reached its maximum thickness. Ice thickness is measured ( in centimetres) using an ice drill and an ice measuring tape with a precision of plus or minus 3 centimetres. Snow depth is measured in centimetres using a ruler and to the same precision as the ice thickness. When possible, additional ice and snow thickness measurements are done monthly between January and April by local collaborators.
