GPS Ice motion beacon data, Beaufort sea - ArcticNet 2016

Four GPS equipment disposal ice motion beacons were deployed on different types of sea ice by helicopter. Two were constructed/developed by Canatec Associates International Ltd. (www.canatec.ca) and two were constructed/developed by the collaboration between Solara (www.solaradata.com) and the University of Manitoba. Hourly location data was transmitted using Iridium antenna. Ice motion beacons were left on the ice, and assumed to have sunk when data transmission ceased. Ice floes sampled included first-year ice, and some small multi-year ice floes.
