Lagoon Communites and Ecosystems: National Park Service Alaska Region Inventory & Monitoring Program

Lagoons in two arctic coastal Parks are monitored for a host of biological and physical parameters, including: 1) Determine the temporal variability in water quality parameters in lagoons in arctic Parks; 2) determine nutrient levels in arctic Parks; 3) measure surface area of lagoons; 4) identify and quantify contaminet levels in sediment in lagoons; 5) identify and quantify contaminat levels in Coregonus sps; 6) determine the species richness and measure the realtive abundance of biota in lagoons.
