In this project we performed an international study, done in the United Kingdom and the Netherlands into the effectiveness of the European template for patient information leaflets. The results demonstrate serious problems patients experience with the current template. We designed an alternative template and compared this with the current template. The practical conclusion of the paper is that the revised template enables patients to locate information more effectively, although not all interventions showed improvements.
