Interviewcollectie Stichting Mondelinge Geschiedenis Indonesië, interview 1612

Dit interview bestaat uit twee gesprekken: 1612.1 en 1612.2.

1612.1 De geïnterviewde vertelt hoe hij opgroeide in Indië. In 1940 komt hij in dienst bij het KNIL. Hij werd krijgsgevangen gemaakt en vertelt hier over. Hij kwam in verschillende kampen terecht, in onder andere Australië, Singapore en Japan. De geïnterviewde gaat in op de capitulatie van Japan. Hierna vertrok hij als telegrafist naar Hollandia, Nieuw-Guinea.

1612.2 De geïnterviewde vertelt over zijn tijd in Nieuw-Guinea. Hier blijft hij eerst twee jaar. Begin jaren '60 keert hij terug en werkt hij als burgerambtenaar te Biak.
