Data used to calculate the QILAP was extracted from the Derwent Innovation database of 106,592 granted patents belongs to the period 1900-2017 from Latin-American inventors in the offices of Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Guatemala, Guayana, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela.
