FEM growth and yield data Monocultures - Japanese larch

The development of Japanese larch stands in the Netherlands has been studied since 1934. In this dataset, four studies and their corresponding datasets were assembled:

    1. Thinning research Japanese Larch 1947‐2001, initiated by Becking; in total 37 monoculture plots. The treatments were thinning from below with a large range in thinning degrees, varying from weak to very heavy. From one plot (nr 21 Leende 4) the field book was lost and only the aggregated data on plot level were available. Over more than five decades, the study was supervised by Laar, A. van, Vries, P.G. de, Hildebrand, J.H., Jansen, J.J., Bartelink, H.H.
  • Growth and production study by research institute Dorschkamp (ITBON) / Institute for Forestry and Nature Research (IBN) 1934 – 1990. The aim of this research was the construction of yield tables. The study contained 67 plots with a wide range of thinning degrees from below;

  • Spacing trial by research institute IBN 1983‐1990, containing 9 plots with 3 different initial spacing.

  • HOSP (Houtoogst statistiek en prognose oogstbaar hout) project 1984‐2000. A collection of about 3000 permanent sample point from the Dutch National Forest Inventory. In total 33 monocultures with Japanese larch were selected.
