Scavenging amphipod abundance at trap stations during SONNE cruises SO239 and SO242/1, Clarion Clipperton Fracture Zone (Pacific) and DISCOL area (Peru Basin)

DOI

This data set summarises the scavenging Amphipoda data which were collected using baited trap sampling from two abyssal basins in 2015. Sampling was carried out at eight stations in the eastern Clarion-Clipperton Zone, and at five stations in the Discol experimental area, during expeditions SO239 and SO242/1 respectively. The purpose of this sampling was to construct a biodiversity assessment and to investigate the ecological impacts of deep-sea mining in the Pacific Ocean, by comparison of the Clarion-Clipperton Zone assemblage to this a smaller-scale disturbance proxy site.
