British Oceanographic Data Centre (BODC)

BODC deal with biological, chemical, physical and geophysical data, and our databases contain measurements of nearly 10,000 different variables. Many of the staff have direct experience of marine data collection and analysis. They work alongside information technology specialists to ensure that data are documented and stored for current and future use. The approach to marine data management involves: Careful storage, quality control and archiving of data so they are unaffected by changes in technology and will be available into the future; Distributing data to scientists, education, industry and the public ¿ BODC is committed to improving online access to data on our web site; Working alongside scientists during marine research projects ¿ BODC provide a data management service during the life time of the project; Producing innovative marine data products and digital atlases.
