The meteorological measurements were sending it to foreign observatories to give international visibility to the school (Perez, 1897). The geomagnetic observations taken in the observatory from 1857 to 1859 have been recently revisited by Ribeiro et al. (2011). Pérez R. La Compañía de Jesús en Guatemala y Centro América después de su restauración. Valladolid. Imprenta Castellana. 1897/ Ribeiro P., Vaquero J.M., Trigo R.M. 2011.
