(Table 1) Heat flow measurements in the Gulf of Aden

DOI

Heat fllow in the Tadjoura rift ranges from 158 to 348 mW/m**2. Under these conditions convection rate with intrinsic liquid temperature of 60°C is 2.5 m/yr. A body producing heat flow anomaly is a plate inclined toward the Arabian plate at an angle of 10° to vertical. The upper edge of the plate locates at depth of 6 km and its base locates at 45 km. 1300°C isotherm locates at depth of 30 km at distance of 160 km from the constructive boundary.
