Permafrost Monitoring of the School of Inuvik

Data was (and will continue to be) collected from thermistors over a period of between 5 and 10 years, starting in 2010. The following sources will be used as a base standard and as a point of reference from which collected data will be analyzed: "National Building Code of Canada 2005, Volume 2, Division B, Appendix C, Climactic and Seismic Information for Building Design in Canada" as well as "Potential Climate Change-Induced Permafrost Degradation and Building Foundations: An Assessment of Impacts and Costs for Five Case Communities in the NWT, 2007." Also, an installation plan was developed based on available information and will serve as a basis for equipment installation. Several parties were involved in assisting the monitoring of thermistors and collecting/analyzing data.
