Motivated Underreporting: Filter Questions and Panel Conditioning - Wave 1 & Wave 2.

This study examines underreporting in response to filter questions. Respondents were randomly assigned to three different formats of filter and follow-up questions. To examine whether underreporting effects persist across waves of the panel, the study was repeated in May (Wave 2). Respondents were again randomly assigned to the three formats.
