Sediment depth is given in mbsf. Values for bacteria abundance were originally given in [log cells/cm**3]; they were recalculated by 10^[original value]. Chemistry data are from Shipboard Scientific Party (1998, doi:10.2973/odp.proc.ir.169.1998); for reference, seawater values are 557 mM Cl, 28 mM SO4, 0 mM NH4, 10.6 mM Ca, and 54 mM Mg.
