Calibrated ages (Stuiver and Reimer, 1993) were obtained by the Seattle calibration program CALIB 4.3 method B using the INTCAL98. 14C data set of Stuiver et al. (1998) with the marine samples corrected by 400 years for reservoir age. Polynomial fit ages (see text) were calculated with the following formula: Age [cal-years] = 7702 - 3.5604 * sd + 9.0473*10exp(-2) sd exp(2) - 3.18 * 10exp(-4) * sd exp(3) + 5.53 * 10exp(-7) * sd exp(4) - 3.46 * 10exp(-10) * sd exp(5) where sd is sediment depth [cm] below sea floor. Correlation to ages obtained from CALIB 4.3 program is R = 0.997.
