Stable isotopes and C and N composition of mesozooplankton in the tropical and subtropical Atlantic

DOI

Zooplankton samples collected with oblique tows of MOCNESS-1 net (1 m² of mouth area and 200 µm mesh size) at up to 8 layers between 800 m and the surface during both daylight (L) and night (D) periods. A flowmeter was used on the out-board net, and an average of 438 m³ of water was filtered per tow.C and N composition and stable isotopes analyzed with elemental analyzer (Carlo Erba CHNSO 1108) coupled to an isotope-ratio mass spectrometer (Finnigan Matt Delta Plus).
