Surface Meteorological Stations deployed on sea ice, Beaufort Sea - ArcticNet 2016

Surface meteorological stations for temperature, humidity, atmospheric pressure, wind speed and wind direction were deployed on 2 sea ice floes. Hourly location, and meteorological data was transmitted using Iridium data burst modems. The data were received at the University of Manitoba. The towers were left on the ice, and assumed to have sunk when data transmission ceased. Ice floes sampled included first-year ice floes. Physical sampling of the ice (temperature, salinity) and the water (CTD profile) were also conducted at the meteorological station.
