Microbial communities in sediments from Baffin Bay

We have collected subsamples of sediments retrieved from Baffin Bay during the ArcticNet funded Hidden Biodiversity expedition, in order to characterize their microbial diversity and metabolic capabilities. Culturing of microbes will also be attempted, in order to search for novel antibiotics. The analysis of sediment samples has not yet begun.
